Carol Mains is the Founder and Executive Director of Safety to Go. She has over 30 years experience as a teacher of physical education and recreation administrator in the City of Cleveland. She is a graduate of the Cleveland Public Schools, Lincoln-West High School Class of 1977, The Ohio State University B.S. in Education and holds a M.Ed. from Cleveland State University in Sport Management.
As a teacher in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Carol saw a great need for safety training for her inner city elementary students. While teaching, she developed the curriculum, purchased equipment and supplies and began to train her preschool through second grade students in safety education until her retirement in 2011. During her retirement, she piloted the program in schools/organizations across the City of Cleveland and the response from the children, parents, educators and principals was overwhelmingly positive. Safety to Go became a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 2014.
